girls night out party

Wow- A whopping success! Thanks to all my friends who came to support Buttercup tonight. Everyone seemed to be having fun buying jewelry, scarves, hats and fighting over the last of the sweet nothing wraps. 2 men showed up and out they went after 30 seconds in the shop with all the ladies ooohing and aaahing , giggling and shopping. The driveway was packed with cars and there was standing room only inside. Check out the photos.
The 1st to arrive
The 1st sale- a black sweet nothing wrap
trying on a necklace and another sweet nothing
which color scarf?
the decision is made- now I have to show them how to wear them
a really bad picture of me with the sexy bartender (my husband)
a fuscia sweet nothing
a conference on which necklace
drinking wine
more shopping
what can I say? Girls just wanna have fun!
more decsions
I'll take 1 of each color!
My photographer (my husband) left at this point because a whole bunch of ladies came in and he had no room to move. I wish we had more pictures of everyone else but he abandoned ship. He said too many women!!!
I say never enough!!!
Thanks again to everyone and we'll do it again.

hey baby it's cold out there

This last week has been very chilly here in upstate New York so it got me thinking about these cozy little shrugs I made and thought it was time to show you all how to wear them. Cozy, warm and super soft.
the shrugs
open it up
swing it around
it's got little sleeves to make a sweater
the view from the back
okay now- take it off- fold it in half
wrap it around your shoulders- you've got a wrap
so pretty from the back
next- pull it up towards your neck
wrap one side over your shoulder
wrap the other side over your other shoulder- it's a yummy scarf!
it's the back again
another version- a little longer
add your favorite crystal pin
let it hang free to show its beautiful drape, wear it as a sweater, a wrap, a scarf- but girls- just wear it!
standard size shrug sells for $38.00 and long version is $48.00
lots of delicious colors- camel, green, purple, red, blue and more.

A busy Labor Day weekend

I thought for sure everyone would be having too much fun with  their get togethers to come to Buttercup- I was wrong. It turned out to be the best weekend ever! Customers brought friends and family as "the something to do" when the food ran out.  Everybody had fun trying on jewelry, hats and scarves and making their Christmas requests. Style is beginning to emerge here in this sleepy little town. I love to see the smiling faces when a simple pair of earrings can brighten a persons day. I always feel so good when someone really likes something I make and is willing to pay money for it! It was very exciting to sell one of my wreaths it gives me an excuse to make another.
But- all work and no play makes the maniacal maker a dull girl so it was wonderful to see my brother and sister in law with our nephew (David, Paivi & Thomas). We took them to see  a newborn filly( Fancy Pants) at our friends horse farm and after they left we spent the rest of the day just relaxing on the porch in our new (old) $10 rocking chairs. We now have 15 rockers- I know a little crazy but who could resist $10 antique rockers. Hope your holiday was good - until next time.
p.s. The roof is finished and the big news is David and Paivi are expecting ( we're hoping for a little filly this time)

Buttercup has a new look

As I mentioned in my last post- I've been crazy busy getting ready for fall. New merchandise and re-doing the shop. With half of the roof on I can rest easier about the weather and put my attention where it belongs. Cozy scarves and hats, shrugs, capelets, handbags, baby hats, wreaths and of course everybody's favorite category jewelry! The necklace trees are filled with lots of new designs so enough talk and on with the show!!

B.B says- thank god you finally got me out of that outfit from the summer- this is a much better look for me. I love my sacchetto. These long crystal beads are fabulous and purple is my favorite color!
velvet scrunchy scarves and sacchetto handbags are a great look to mix. Feminine Victorian with a little urban tough!  I love these bags because you can wear them around the waist or over the shoulder. They come in 3 sizes and several styles and great colors like bronze, chocolate brown, black and deep red. There is also a big tote for those of you who carry their life in their bag.
Lots of ruffles this year and purple is the color to own!
the mini- just enough for cell phone, wallet, lipstick and comb. Also available in Saville Row pin stripes.
more scrunchy-ruffly  scarves and more sacchetto styles
the tote- they come in brown, black and bronze

PURPLE
Brown sparkle capelet could be worn with this amber pearl and crystal necklace or simple long gold chains. Note the amethyst and citrine choker to the left
brown silk capelet, citrine and garnet necklaces
This is my new shrug design for fall.I'll have to do a demo- they can be worn as wraps and scarves also.
I call these my little nothings. B.B. is modeling the purple. Light, lacy, frilly and just gorgeous on. Black, cream, fuchsia, purple, pearly grey and taupe. A must have for fall.

cloche hats, ruffly scarves and arm warmers, lots of colors- hats also available in baby.
This is my new obsession. I love working with dried flowers- so here goes the show
Well girls that's all for now and as always- I'd love to hear from you with questions and comments. So shop till you drop. With love from Buttercup.
